Applesauce, Anyone?

I cannot believe I found this wonderful vintage Victorio strainer at my local thrift store! It's all metal - a cast iron base and aluminum bowl. Today these food processors all have plastic parts. I had one about 20 years ago when I lived in Western New York and grew most of our vegetables. It's fantastic for applesauce and tomato paste. You just dump your cooked produce into the bowl, crank, and the pulp is extracted down the funnel while the skins and seeds are spit out the end of the protuding tube. A fantastic device at a fantastic price of only $8.00! I don't think the majority of shoppers knew what it was, since I had to locate the parts that had been removed by the curious. Now I have to get to work and cook!
